Example amounts and dates. Load Binance BTC/USDT daily opens for the past year. All amounts are USDT, not USD. Loading requests public market data from your browser.

No historical prices loaded yet. Results appear after you request real data.

Backtest only. Historical returns do not predict future results. Missing daily prices stop the calculation; no prices are invented or interpolated.

Check the method before using a result.

How the backtest works

An initial purchase occurs on the start date. Recurring purchases begin after the first daily, weekly or monthly interval. Monthly purchases stay anchored to the start day; months without that day use their last day. Each purchase converts the contribution after its entered trading fee into BTC at Binance's 00:00 UTC open from a completed daily candle. The end-date snapshot values the accumulated BTC.

Total invested counts all contributions, including fees. Average cost divides total invested by BTC accumulated. Historical P&L is end-date value minus total invested; ROI divides that P&L by total invested. Calculations use decimal arithmetic and round only for display.

Data and limitations

Data provided by Binance. This calculator requests the past 365 completed UTC days from Binance public market data, without an API key. Amounts and valuations are in USDT, which is not assumed to equal USD. Regional restrictions and rate limits may apply. You request prices only when you press Load; the page does not poll. If the API is unavailable, rate-limited or missing a required date, the calculator shows an error rather than using a made-up price.

Daily snapshots are reference prices, not executable quotes. Real purchases may have different timestamps, exchange prices, spreads, slippage, custody fees, taxes and execution conditions. Historical performance does not predict future results.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I only backtest about one year?

This version deliberately limits its request and purchase schedule to the past 365 days. This is a calculator limit, not a claim that Binance only has one year of history.

What happens when a day's price is missing?

The calculation stops and names the missing UTC date. It does not silently reuse another day's price.
